So Who Am I?
Hey, I’m Lynn— a maker, tutor, creative business owner, mentor and big believer in following the things that make you feel happy.
With degrees in art and interior design, both gained when my own children were young, I have over 20 years of experience working creatively with both adults and children of all ages in and out of education. My journey has taken me from teaching secondary school pupils to updating homes on a budget and running my own retail home and giftware business.
Over the years, I’ve taught furniture painting and soft furnishings workshops to adults, it was great fun and I met some lovely people but the one thing that has really stayed with me was my time working in secondary education.
I saw how many children were losing their spark for creativity — and I knew I wanted to do something about it.
Year later that has led me to running craft workshops, after-school clubs, birthday parties, and my biggest passion project: a creative holiday club that runs all year round, giving children the chance to explore, imagine, and make in a style that involves as little technology as possible, more like a rerun of the 1970's childhood I was lucky enough to have.
But honestly? I know how hard it can feel to get started with your own business. When I launched mine, I spent way too long figuring things out on my own — researching, second-guessing, and feeling unsure of the next step. Running a small business means being the bookkeeper, planner, social media queen and all-round guru on everything business, something that's hard to do when you’ve never done it before. I’ve learnt so much and made so many mistakes, now, I want to share everything I’ve learned to make that journey a little easier for others.
I’m especially here for women who are dreaming of starting a creative business (or have already started and feel a bit stuck!) — women who want the freedom and flexibility to do something they love and building a profitable career but aren’t sure where to begin.
